Patches
Stamps and patches are "Transdermal devices" (Nicorette ®, NiQuitin ®), that is to say the nicotine patch to stick on the skin. Nicotine readily absorbed through the skin through it. The patches contain varying doses of this substance. This allows to adapt the treatment to the intensity of pharmacological dependence. Different patches containing decreasing amounts of nicotine ranging from 21 mg to 5 mg per day are used during treatment, which usually lasts three months. The stamps are pasted in the morning on the skin and are left in place 16 or 24 hours as needed. The amount of nicotine released is proportional to the surface of the stamp used and exposure time on the skin. If withdrawal symptoms persist, it should reconsider the dosage of the patches used. The patches are sometimes poorly tolerated in the skin (itching, burning ...). There are two types of patches: patch delivering nicotine continuously for 24 hours and delivering nicotine patches as a batch for 16 hours.
