Visiting Paris
Visiting Paris, the right arm of the Prime Minister, Haris Pamboukis, is charged with attracting "strategic investments" in the world. Europeans, Russians, Middle Easterners and Chinese are welcome. While the Greek Finance Minister George Constantinople, arrived Thursday in Paris, where he will meet the Minister of Economy Christine Lagarde, right arm of the Prime Minister, George Papandreou, multiplies calls up to outsiders. Haris Pamboukis was formally charged last week to attract "strategic investments" in the country. He presented the government a law to facilitate that will be passed by Parliament in late October. It was Tuesday, also in Paris, where he met Jacques Attali economists and Daniel Cohen. "For the moment, Greece is not to become competitive and we need big projects of identity," says the former lawyer for Le Figaro. In his view, all sectors are involved: energy, water, transport, ports, majority owned by the state. And all investors are welcome, Greeks and foreigners. When he speaks of his countrymen, he thinks first shipowners. As for foreigners, he is not afraid to break taboos.
